A fundamental element of Merritt's Chapel United Methodist Church is mission work that reaches out to the local community and the world.
Some of the ministries we are involved with are listed below. You can click on the icons for more info about our partner groups.
Relay for Life: For more then 5 years Merritt's Chapel has been an active participant in raising money for cancer research.
Last year our church members raised more then $10,000 for the event.
Family Violence and Rape Crisis Center of Chatham County: Merritt's Chapel supports this ministry through financial gifts and non-perishable materials donations.
World Vision: The Youth Group sponsors a child through World Vision.
Raleigh Rescue Mission: The church, and the Youth Group, lend support to the Raleigh Rescue Mission.
Shut-In Visitation: Of course, we visit our own members, but our shut-in list also is composed of non-members.
Scouts Meeting: Another outreach ministry to the community. Scouting teaches great life-lessons and helps build character.
Vacation Bible School: An annual missions project with strong community participation.
Bible Study:Offered to church and community for growth in the knowledge of God's Word.
Women's Fellowship Group: Offers missional outreach too numerous to delineate. When there is a need, the women respond.
Roadside Trash Collection: The Men's Group collects roadside trash four times per year.
Web Page: This web page itself is a missional outreach to the community spreading the news of the gospel.
